ACMS Technical Requirements

As we continue to prepare for the rollout of the Appellate Case Management System, ACMS, the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims would like to provide additional information about the technical requirements needed to use the system.

ACMS is a web-based application that will be compatible with most web browsers (i.e., Safari, Firefox, Edge) and operating systems, including Microsoft's Windows and Apple's macOS. To use ACMS, users will need a reliable internet connection, an email address to register, the ability to convert documents to pdf, and a web browser to access ACMS. Users will not need to use Java to access ACMS; however, you will still need Java to access cases filed in CM/ECF. No further equipment or applications will be necessary.

Additionally, users will access ACMS using multifactor authentication (MFA) to log in. This will require the user to provide an email address and create a password as the first factor. When logging in to ACMS with that email address and password, the user will also be required to enter a code that will be sent to their email address as the second factor to verify their identity.
